Kurt Browning
Kurt Browning (OC; born June 18, 1966 in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta ) is a former Canadian figure skater, who started in a single run. He is the World Champion from 1989 to 1991 and 1993.
He grew up with his older brother and his older sister Caroline (Alberta).
He was four times world champion in figure skating (1989, 1990, 1991, 1993), more often than any Canadian in history, but was never able to win a medal at the Olympics. 1994 was the three-time Olympian at the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer at the Nations invasion of the Canadian flag.
On March 25, 1988, he jumped the first error-free quadruple jump - a quadruple toe loop - - in a competition (World Cup ), making it into the Guinness Book of Records listed. He is also known for its excellent footwork.
1994 Browning ended his amateur career and became a professional.
On June 30, 1996 Browning married Sonia Rodriguez, a principal dancer of the National Ballet of Canada. The couple has two sons, Gabriel, born on 12 July 2003, and Dillon, born on 14 August 2007.
