Lake Konnevesi

Konnevesi is a 189 km ² large lake in the Finnish countryside Savo and Central Finland. The valley is close Konnevesi its western shore. The lake flows through a chain of other lakes to the south Päijänne.

The lake consists of two large bodies of water: to the north of the Pohjois- Konnevesi and south of the actual Konnevesi. In between lies the island Pakarilansalo. The Neiturin Canal connects the Pohjois- Konnevesi with the westerly lake Keitele. The Kiesimä Canal connects the Pohjois- Konnevesi with the eastern lake Kiesimä.

Main tributary is the Konnekoski, rapids, through which flows the easternmost Hankavesi in the Konnevesi. The catchment area of the Hankavesi are several large lakes including Pielavesi, Nilakka, Iisvesi, Niinivesi and Koskelovesi.
