Geography
Geographical location
The Landwehr is the southernmost municipality of the district of Hildesheim, it lies north of Bad Gandersheim between the mountains Sackwald and Bright Mountain. The municipality is part of the velvet municipality Freden at (Leine), which has its headquarters in the town of Freden (Leine).

History
The villages have emerged as the outer outpost of Winzenburg. The villages blocked the historic streets from the Brunswick Gander home after Winzenburg ( Eyershausen ) and after Freden ( Wetteborn ), and the valley in which the ' new ' road was built to Winzenburg and Freden at the end of the 19th century ( Ohlenrode ). Oldest buildings are today's church towers, the towers were in the making, which is particularly probably the oldest, the bet Borner church tower to see.
Incorporations
On March 1, 1974, the municipalities Eyershausen, Ohlenrode and Wetteborn were merged to form the new municipality of Landwehr.

Mayor
The honorary mayor Ines Hoffmann (born Eisemann ) was elected on 10 September 2006. On September 11, 2011, she was re-elected by a large majority in the Council and confirmed on 7 November 2011 as the Mayor.
