Geographical location

Marie Hagen is located in Leinebergland east of the Nature Park Weser mountain country Schaumburg -Hameln Elze between the north and Eschershausen in the south. Northwest extends the Thüster Mountain and southeast of Duinger mountain.

Around Marie Hagen, there are many attractive hiking opportunities, for example in the Duinger mountain and Thüster mountain. A well-known hiking trail passes by Marie Hagen over the crest of the hill to Thüster Lönsturm and on to Salzhemmendorf.

History

In the census of 1895 Marie Hagen had 690 inhabitants.

During the Second World War, Marie Hagen was taken on July 26, 1941 by four high explosive and incendiary bombs three. Five houses were heavily damaged.
