Lanusei

Lanusei is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5468 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Ogliastra Sardinia. The community is located about eleven kilometers southwest of the co- capital Tortoli.

History

Lanusei was first mentioned in the 12th century ( 1119 ), although the two lying in the community Giants' Tombs ( 1956 - Tomba I - and 1964 - Tomba II - found) already indicate a settlement in the Stone Age. Since 1824, the diocese consists Lanusei. Was the significance of the place through the school of the Salesians of Don Bosco, who settled among other things here.
