Lauri Korpikoski

Lauri Korpikoski ( born July 28, 1986 in Turku ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player. He currently plays for the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League on the position of the center.

Career

Korpikoski played as a teenager in the youth team of TPS Turku. At the age of 18 he made ​​his debut with the first team in the Finnish SM- liiga.

After Korpikoski had already been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 by the New York Rangers in the first round to 19th place, he brought them to the end of the 2005/06 season for the first time in their farm team in the American Hockey League. In the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Center led by three points in five games well and also spent the 2006 /07 and 2007/ 08 there. After Korpikoski could increase from season to season, he was called for the first time in the NHL squad of the New York Rangers during the 2008 playoffs.
