2006–07 AHL season
The 2006/07 season was the 71st regular season of the American Hockey League ( AHL ). The regular season began on October 4, 2006 and ended on April 15, 2007. During the period, the 27 teams in the league of 80 matches contested. The playoffs started on April 18.
On 29 January 2007 the 20th AHL All- Star Classic was held, which was between a Canadian All-Star team and the team PlanetUSA consisting of U.S. and international players, discharged. Venue was the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario. The Team PlanetUSA won with 7-6.

Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Lowell Lock Monsters were purchased by the Devils NHL team New Jersey and renamed Lowell Devils.
- The Cleveland Barons were to Worcester, Massachusetts, relocated and renamed the Worcester Sharks. You play from now on in the Atlantic Division.
- The Albany River Rats were of the Atlantic Division moved to the East Division.
