Leo Komarov

Leo Komarov (Russian Леонид Александрович Комаров / Leonid Alexandrovich Komarov; born January 23, 1987 in Narva, Estonian SSR ) is a Finnish- Russian ice hockey player who is under contract with HK Dynamo Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League since July 2013.

Career

Leo Komarov, who owns both the Finnish and Russian citizenship, his debut in the SM- liiga began his career as a hockey player in the youth of Ässät Pori, for the first team he in the season 2005/ 06 was. After the season, Dynamo merged due to financial problems with the HK MVD Balaschicha to OHK Dynamo. In June 2010, Komarov was awarded a contract with this new club and won 2012 with the OHK the Gagarin Cup. In July 2013 he left the NHL again and was taken from the HK Dynamo Moscow under contract.

Internationally

For Finland Komarov took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 2006 and 2007. In addition, he was in the squad of Finland in the World Championships in 2009 and 2010. At the Olympic Games in 2014 he won the bronze medal with the Finnish national team.
