Let's Stay Together is a 1971 published song from Al Green to a tune of Al Jackson Jr. and Willie Mitchell. The recording was made for Greens album Let 's Stay Together, which came on the market in 1972. The song by Willie Mitchell and Al Green and under the label Hi Records was produced published.

Genesis

After Mitchell Green had played a rough draft of the melody that he had worked with drummer Al Jackson, Green wrote the lyrics to the song in just five minutes. Mitchell was able to convince her to record the song in the first place after two days of Green. The recording was made on a Friday night, was the following Monday, pressed on vinyl and already debuted at number eight in the charts on Thursday.

Achievements

The song was a number -one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and is still Greens only number - one hit in the United States. The song was from the music magazine Rolling Stone listed at number 60 of the " 500 Greatest Songs of All Time ". 1999, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The song was also used in Quentin Tarantino's film Pulp Fiction.
