Lincoln County (Maine)

Lincoln County is a county located in the state of Maine in the United States. The the county seat ( county seat ) is located in Wiscasset.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1812 square kilometers. Of these, 631 square kilometers, according to 34.84 per cent, of water. The county is bordered clockwise to the County: Kennebec County, Waldo County, Knox County and Sagadahoc County.

Elimination of Massachusetts

Lincoln County was until 1820 a part of the State of Massachusetts. Through the Missouri Compromise was Lincoln County of Massachusetts was separated and the remaining part of Maine part of the March 15, recorded as 23 state of Maine.
