Lisboa Region

The Região de Lisboa ( Lisbon Region ) is a Portuguese region, which is composed of parts of the districts of Lisbon and Setúbal. To the north it borders the Centro Region, in the north- east, east and south of the Alentejo and in the south and west by the Atlantic Ocean. The region covers an area of ​​2963 km ² and has 3,583,974 inhabitants (2010; 35.00 % of mainland Portugal).

This region was founded in 2002 after the Lisboa e Vale do Tejo region was divided. The Centro Oeste were assigned to the sub-regions and Medio Tejo and Alentejo the subregion Lezíria do Tejo ). The following sub-regions remained in the Região de Lisboa:

Economy
