List of cities in Serbia

This is a list of the largest cities in Serbia.

By far the largest agglomeration in Serbia is Belgrade, with a population of 1,755,625 (as of 1 January 2006). Thus 16 percent of the country's people live in the capital region.

The following table contains the cities of over 20,000 inhabitants, the results of the census of 31 March 1991 and April 1, 2002 as well as a calculation for January 1, 2006. Listed is also the parent administrative unit ( province of Kosovo and Vojvodina), to the city belongs.

The part of Serbia ( more than half of the country) that does not belong to these two provinces is not a separate political entity, so there is no official name for it. Informally, the term Central Serbia is in use. The population figures refer to the respective urban settlement in the narrower sense - the geographical area of the city - not the city or municipality in the political sense. These are given in the municipalities of Serbia list.

* Places in Kosovo, which is still regarded by its declaration of independence in 2008 from Serbia as part of the country.
