List of highways in South Australia
The geography of South Australia can be divided into two parts. Firstly, the densely populated, water-rich corner in the Southeast and the arid outback in the rest of the state. Consequently, a large proportion of Highways is in the densely populated part. The Eyre Highway to Perth and the Stuart Highway to Darwin are the only trunk roads through the sparsely populated outback. The other roads are unpaved outback tracks.
