Lovely Rita
June 1, 1967
Lovely Rita (German: Lovely Rita ') is a song by British rock band The Beatles, which was published in 1967 as the tenth track on the LP Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
The recordings for this Paul McCartney composition took place at Abbey Road Studios on 23 and 24 February and on 7 and 21 March 1967. As a copyright holder Lennon / McCartney are given.
Formation
The studio work where a lot has been experimenting with tape speeds, extended over four days. George Martin's piano solo was absorbed more slowly and accelerates later. In addition, the drive roller of the tape machine was umklebt with edit tape, so the tape was slightly raised and reeled. So the piano was an old-fashioned honky- tonk sound. George Harrison had the idea to blow on paper and comb. Also, parts of which went into the final shot.
Finally, the Beatles had the feeling that the song still lacks the " extra" special. So they started in a wild manner to improvise mouth sounds, which, backed by highly reverberant can be heard at the end of the piece especially. John Lennon did not appreciate this piece especially since he thought it was boring. George Martin also liked by all the songs on the Sgt Pepper album at least.
Content

McCartney recalls that someone told him that in the U.S. traffic wardens to monitor the parking meters would, called meter maids '. At first he thought vaguely of a satirical mocking song, but it was soon better portray his protagonist amiable.
