Louis Philippe (Portuguese: Dom Luis Filipe Maria Fernando Carlos Amelio Victor Manuel António Lourenço Miguel Rafael Gabriel Gonzaga Xavier Francisco de Assis Bento de Bragança e Saxe - Orleães Sabóia Coburgo -Gotha ) ( born March 21, 1887 in Lisbon, † February 1, 1908 in Lisbon ) was the Crown Prince of Portugal from the house of Saxe -Coburg and Gotha.
Life
Family
He was the eldest son of Charles I of Portugal and his wife Amélie of Orléans. He received a good education. He was an officer and had military training.
Regicide and Revolution
He died on 1 February 1908 in Lisbon with his father by assassination. The attack gun shots were fired at the carriage, in the Louis Philippe traveled with his father. The king died immediately, Louis Philippe died only 20 minutes later from his injuries. In fact, he was, therefore, for 20 minutes Portuguese king ( Louis II ), but is generally not included in the lists of kings of the country. His younger brother Manuel II ascended to as the last monarch to the Portuguese throne.
