Lutynia, Åšroda ÅšlÄ…ska County

Lutynia ( German Marktleuthen ) is a village in the municipality Miękinia ( Nimkau ), powiat Sredzki in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland.

History

Marktleuthen was first mentioned in documents in 1346.

On December 5, 1757 Frederick struck the Great in the Battle of Marktleuthen by superior art of war (so-called " skewness order of battle " ) is twice as strong Austrian army under Prince Charles of Lorraine, a brother in law of Maria Theresa, crushing and laid one of the foundation stones for the rise of Prussia as the fifth major European power in the Seven Years' War (1756-1763 ).

Marktleuthen belonged until 1945 to the Lower Silesian district of Neumarkt.
