Mae Fah Luang University
The Mae Fah Luang University ( Thai มหาวิทยาลัย แม่ ฟ้า หลวง, RTGS: Mae Fa Luang Mahawitthayalai, english Mae Fah Luang University) is a university in Chiang Rai in northern Thailand.
General
The Mae Fah Luang University is a public university and was established on 25 September 1998. Due to the mountainous location of the campus took the completion of the plant until 2004.
Location
The Mae Fah Luang University is located in Tambon Tha Sut, the district Mueang Chiang Rai, amidst the scenic mountains of northern Thailand.
Faculties
After initially only two faculties were, their was a designed for English Studies, to date, several have been added, including Chinese economy, agribusiness and Traditional Thai Medicine.
Students
At present ( 2007) are approximately 5,000 students enrolled in the bachelor's degree programs.
Name
Mae Fah Luang ( " royal mother from heaven ") was the nickname of Princess Srinagarindra, who died in 1995, mother of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. It was considered the patron saint of mountain peoples who settled mainly in the province of Chiang Rai.
