Maicon Sisenando

Maicon, 2009

Maicon Douglas Sisenando (born 26 July 1981 in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil ), short Maicon, is a Brazilian football player and is since July 2013 AS Roma under contract.

Its common position is the right side of defense, but he is known primarily for its rapid advances in the half of the opponent, which earned him the reputation as one of the best full-backs in the world.

Career

In the club

His career as a professional football player began at the Brazilian club Cruzeiro EC from Belo Horizonte. There he played from January 2001 to June 2004. A month later he moved to AS Monaco, there to create an international breakthrough. This goal he could realize, because he was directly regulars and a support in the defense. After two years he joined AS Monaco to Italy to Inter Milan, where he was able to secure a regular place in spite of strong competition.

In the first knockout round second leg of the Champions League season 2006/ 07 against FC Valencia came after the final whistle scuffles on the pitch. The riots began after Valencia captain Carlos Marchena had bad kicked in a war of words Nicolás Burdisso in the port. Almost all the players were then involved at the center circle in fisticuffs, including Maicon. Finally, the Brazilians by UEFA was suspended for six games. However, Inter appealed and had success so far that Maicon lock has been reduced to three games.

In the 2009/10 season Maicon won with Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho, the triple consisting of the Italian Cup, Italian Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

On August 31, 2012 Maicon joined the Premier League club Manchester City.

On July 17, 2013 Maicon left the club again and moved to AS Roma.

In the National Team

In the Brazilian national Maicon debuted on 13 July 2003 against Mexico. His first goal for Brazil, he scored against Honduras on 16 July 2003. Having Cafu had ended after the Football World Cup in 2006 his career with the Selecao, Maicon be established as an integral part of the national team. Since then he has won the Copa America with the national team (2004, 2007) and the Confederations Cup (2005, 2009). At the Football World Cup 2010 in South Africa defender for Brazil also participated. In the first match of his team against North Korea, he scored the 1-0. After two years of abstinence Maicon gave in September 2013 his comeback to the national team in the game against Australia.
