Maider Unda

Maider Unda González de Audicana ( born July 2, 1977 in Vitoria- Gasteiz ) is a Spanish wrestler. She won previously at the World and European Championships three medals.

Career

Maider Unda González de Audicana is Baskin. She began as a teenager in Otxandio with 9 years with Sambo. Only at the age of 21, she moved in 1998 to the rings. It was to a member of the sports club Ringer Escuela de Alava Vitoria Lucha. Since 1998, Luis Crespa is her coach. The 1.77 meter tall athlete was several times in their athletic development through serious injuries thrown back ( in the years 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2011). Nevertheless, they remained in wrestling and evolved so far that they could even be medalist at World and European Champions by an enormous training diligence. Maider, who had trained as an electrician, now living in Olaeta at Aramaiona and operates livestock, particularly sheep farming here. They specialized in the production of cheese.

In the years from 2000 to 2012, she won twelve times the Spanish league title in the women. Only in 2011 it was not Spanish champion, because at this championship they could not start this year because of an injury.

Her international career was launched at the World Championships in Sofia. She has attended there in the weight class up to 75 kg the 12th Place. At the European Championships in Budapest in 2001, she landed in the weight category up to 68kg their first victory in an international championship. She won over the Turkish girl Najla Salihoglu on points. In the same year she won in the same weight class at the Mediterranean Games in Tunis behind Lise Golliot - Legrand, France and Yousia Magdy from Egypt a bronze medal.

In the following years Maider Unda González de Audicana then started regularly at the World and European Championships. The best placement that she was a 5th place at the European Championship 2002 in Seinäjoki / Finland initially reached. Be subject to, inter alia, there also the German Nina Englich on points. Qualifying for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she could not. In 2007, she reached at the World Championships in Baku in the weight class up to 72 kg an excellent 5th place and lost in the fight for a world championship bronze medal narrowly against the Russian Gousel Manjurowa. At the World Cup 2010 in Moscow, she just missed a medal with a 5th place. The fight for one of the two bronze medals she lost narrowly to the multiple world champion Kyoko Hamaguchi of Japan.

Another medal won Maider Unda González de Audicana then at the European Championships 2012 in Belgrade. She came there with wins over Cynthia Vanessa Vescan from France, Vasilissa Marsaliuk from Belarus and Natalya Palamarchuk from Azerbaijan at a loss to Maja Gunvor Erlandsen from Norway to 3rd place. For participation in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she could be only in the third tournament in Helsinki, which she won from France before Cynthia Vanessa Vescan qualify. In London she was but in great shape and came with wins over Ana Talia Betancourt, Colombia and burmaa Ochirbat, Mongolia, a defeat against Stanka Slatewa Christowa and a win over Vasilissa Marsaliuk, Belarus to third place and thus won an Olympic bronze medal.

Spanish Championships

Maider Unda Gonzales de Audicana won in the years 2000 to 2010 and in 2012 twelve times the title of a Spanish champion. In 2011 it was missing because of an injury.
