Maine Nordiques

The Maine Nordiques were an American ice hockey franchise in the North American Hockey League in Lewiston, Maine.

History

The Maine Nordiques were established for the 1973/74 season as a franchise in the inaugural North American Hockey League. The Maine Nordiques were the farm team the Nordiques de Québec from the World Hockey Association. The biggest success of the team was reaching the finals of the playoffs to the Lockhart Cup in the 1976 / 77th In this they were subject to the Syracuse Blazers in the best- of-seven series with a sweep. Following the season the North American Hockey League was dissolved and the Maine Nordiques stopped the game operation.
