North American Hockey League (1973–77)

The North American Hockey League (abbreviated NAHL ) was a professional North American Hockey League Minor.

In 1973, the League was launched, as well, which was established at the same time Southern Hockey League took mainly the teams from the defunct Eastern Hockey League game on in their operation. The champion trophy of the league was the Lockhart Cup, which was awarded to the winner of each play-offs at the end of the season. In addition, the league is regarded as one of the templates for the film Slap Shot (Original Title: Slap Shot) with Paul Newman and Michael Ontkean.

Apart from the name the league has nothing in common with today's existing U.S. Junior League North American Hockey League and the Canadian Ligue Nord - Americaine de Hockey.
