Maïwenn
Maïwenn Le Besco ( born April 17 1976 in Les Lilas, Seine- Saint- Denis ) is a French film actress, screenwriter and film director.
Family
Her sister is the actress, screenwriter and director Isild Le Besco, her mother, the actress Catherine Belkhodja. Her brother Jowan Le Besco is an actor and cinematographer. Like her sister and her brother Jowan Isild carries Maïwenn a Breton first and last name.
Life
Since the early 1980s Maïwenn played as a child actress in French films, some of which were also seen in Germany. These include L' Année prochaine ... si tout va bien (1981, directed by Jean- Loup Hubert, German Title: Do not marry me, Chérie ), L' Été meurtrier (1983, directed by Jean Becker, German Title: A Deadly Summer ) and Double face (1985, directed by Serge Leroy, German Title: Der Doppelgänger ).
At the age of 16, she began a love affair with Luc Besson, with whom she lived for some time. 1993 their daughter Shana was born. In 1994, she starred in Besson's Léon - The Professional and in his 1997 film The Fifth Element with. Shortly after the couple separated.
The horror thriller High Tension (2003), in which she played one of the two lead roles, excited and Others stir because its JK -certified DVD 2005 indexed in Germany due to the escalating violence and the BPjM on List B (media, for subject to the further dissemination bans under the Criminal Code) [ the BPjM opinion ] is set. The matter was presented in 2006 for consideration at the Stuttgart public prosecutor. From May 2001 to July 2002 led Maïwenn twice a week in Paris, her one-person stage play Le pois chiche - One Maï show on. In this autobiographical piece she deals with her difficult childhood. In particular, they calculated here with her mother to make the Maïwenn in the 1980s with the aim of a child star of her, forcing her to hard castings and her beyond that yet transferred some of the responsibility for her younger siblings.
This theme is also found in the film I am an actrice (2004), to the Maïwenn wrote the screenplay and directed. Leading ladies, they are themselves and their daughter Shana Besson. Mother and daughter playing here - as it were offset by a generation - the story of Maïwenn and their mother.
In 2006 the film was released Forgive me. Again Maïwenn acted as a screenwriter, director and lead actress in a person. Five years later she received for directing Poliss (2011), who reports from the police everyday, their first invitation to compete in the International Film Festival of Cannes where it won the Jury Prize and the 2012 Prix Lumière for Best Director. At the award ceremony of the 2012 César Poliss received 2 awards ( Best Young Actress, Best Editing ) with 14 nominations.
