Malbuisson

Malbuisson is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Malbuisson is located 885 meters above sea level, approximately 13 km south-southwest of the town of Pontarlier (air line). The village is located in the Jura, in the Haut- Doubs, in an elevated position on a terrace on the southeastern shore of Lac de Saint-Point, at the foot of the anticline of Montperreux.

The area of ​​6.60 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The northwestern boundary runs along the usually relatively shallow shores of Lac de Saint-Point and extends from the confluence of the Doubs to easily advanced into the lake alluvial fan of springing with the Source Bleue creek. So Malbuisson has in the far west a small proportion of the marshy plain of Doubstals. From the shores of the lake community area extends eastward across the country terrace of Malbuisson up to the adjacent, partly forested, partly lined with pasture plateau of Montperreux. Here the Fort de Saint -Antoine is with 1091 m reached the highest elevation of Malbuisson nearby.

At Malbuisson the hamlet of Le Vesenay (900 m) is on a hill overlooking the east bank of Lac de Saint-Point. History

Malbuisson belonged in the Middle Ages to the rule of Pontarlier. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. To a field change occurred in 1856 when a part of the community of soil Chaudron (belonging to Montperreux today ) was assigned to the parish Malbuisson. With the opening of the tram, the wrong of Pontarlier via Mouthe after Foncine -le-Haut, Malbuisson was connected to public traffic in 1900. The operation of the line was discontinued after the Second World War. Since 1999 Malbuisson is a member of the comprehensive 19 villages municipal association Communauté de communes du Mont d' Or et des Deux Lacs.

Population

With 716 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Malbuisson one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. Once the population has consistently had in the first half of the 20th century in the range of approximately 280 people, a significant population growth was recorded since the early 1970s.

Economy and infrastructure

Malbuisson has long been a predominantly coined by agriculture, especially dairy farming and animal husbandry, as well as by the forestry village. In addition, there are today some of the local small business enterprises, including companies in the wood processing, machine shops and a dairy. Meanwhile, the village has also changed into a residential community. Many workers are commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

As a resort in a popular tourist area in the High Jura Malbuisson now benefiting also from tourism. The community is geared both to the summer tourism (water sports, fishing, hiking, cycling ) and on winter tourism (especially alpine). Malbuisson has a boat harbor with recreational center at Lac de Saint-Point, as well as hotels and a campsite.

The village is traffic- technically quite well developed. It lies on the secondary road D437 which leads from Pontarlier to Mouthe.
