Marcos Paulo Alves

Marcos Paulo Alves ( born May 11, 1977 in Doresópolis -MG ) is a Brazilian footballer. He is currently at Portuguesa in the Brazilian Série B under contract.

Club career

Marcos Paulo began his professional career in 1996 with the major Brazilian club Cruzeiro EC. From 1996 to 1997, he was only in the regional league and in the cup for use. From 1998 he was also used in first division and won a regular place. In the following years he won with Cruzeiro Copa Libertadores, Copa do Brasil and the Copa Mercosur. Simultaneously, he was drafted into the U-23 and Brazilian national team due to strong performance.

In 2001, he was regarded as a great midfielder and had made ​​an international name. Thus followed the logical step to Europe.

For now, it went on loan to Italy Udinese Calcio. There he found himself in a relegation battle again, which he was not accustomed to from Brazil. Marcos Paulo had severe adaptation problems and found only hard in the team. At the end of the season, but stabilized his power and he could occasionally get a regular place. National
