Marcos Paulo Alves
Marcos Paulo Alves ( born May 11, 1977 in Doresópolis -MG ) is a Brazilian footballer. He is currently at Portuguesa in the Brazilian Série B under contract.
Club career
Marcos Paulo began his professional career in 1996 with the major Brazilian club Cruzeiro EC. From 1996 to 1997, he was only in the regional league and in the cup for use. From 1998 he was also used in first division and won a regular place. In the following years he won with Cruzeiro Copa Libertadores, Copa do Brasil and the Copa Mercosur. Simultaneously, he was drafted into the U-23 and Brazilian national team due to strong performance.
In 2001, he was regarded as a great midfielder and had made an international name. Thus followed the logical step to Europe.
For now, it went on loan to Italy Udinese Calcio. There he found himself in a relegation battle again, which he was not accustomed to from Brazil. Marcos Paulo had severe adaptation problems and found only hard in the team. At the end of the season, but stabilized his power and he could occasionally get a regular place. However, the expectations placed in him he could meet at any time. Udinese managed to finish the season with a one-point lead in the league. Marcos Paulo graduated fourteen games, but he was able to score a goal. Udinese decided not to pull the high purchase option for Marcos Paulo.
For the 2002/ 03 season, there was a further lending to Europe. This time to Portugal for Sporting Lisbon. For Sporting, he had the two strong defensive midfielder Paulo and Rui Bento on. He did not make it to displace one of the two from the team and completed only three league games. Frustrated, he returned after only half a year back to Brazil.
Back in Brazil, he moved to Grêmio Porto Alegre. The traditional club was located right in the relegation battle, and sought desperately for players who were able to stabilize the defensive. Marcos Paulo added immediately into the team and completed a fifteen solid games. At the end of the league could be celebrated.
For the 2003/ 04 season, he then moved a second time to Europe. This time in Israel for Maccabi Haifa. Haifa had missed the championship title in the 2002/03 season only due to goal difference and then took a lot of money in hand to celebrate winning the title. He hit a straight away and formed in a row together with Djovani Roso and Yaniv Katan safe side axis. In the end he was able to celebrate winning the championship.
Despite the prospect of being able to play in the Champions League, he then moved back into the home to Guarani FC. After half a year relegation battle, he opted for the adventure and Ukraine signed a well-endowed two-year contract with Metalist Kharkiv. The change turned out to be for both sides misunderstanding. Marcos Paulo graduated only a game for the Ukrainians and changed in the summer one more time back home to Portuguesa. There he established himself once again as a regular player and was able in 2007 to celebrate the promotion to the Brazilian Serie A.
In January 2008, he transferred in exchange plus additional payment against the player Catatau to Japan to Yokohama FC. When the club relegated from J. League at the end of the season, he moved within the league to Shimizu S-Pulse in which he is the undisputed master players.
National
With the Brazilian U-23 team, he managed confident of qualifying for the Summer Olympics 2000., Where he also found himself in the final squad again, which was eliminated in the quarterfinals unhappy in the game against the eventual gold medalist Cameroon after extra time.
In April 1999 he made his debut for the senior team against the United States. In the 22nd minute he succeeded equal to the scoring for interim 2-0. The game became a shooting match and ended 7-0.
Overall, he completed between 1999 and 2000 in eighteen games in which he scored three goals. After retire at Olympia in September 2000, he was not drafted into the national team.
