Marigliano

Marigliano is a municipality with 30,095 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Naples, Campania region.

The Camorra in Marigliano

According to a study in October 2000, which was given by the Italian Parliament in order, the site is largely in the hands of the mafia organization Camorra. Especially illegal dumping of domestic and industrial waste around Marigliano is attributable to organized crime. Another study found in 2004 that deaths is due to cancer in this area well above the European average, which is due to the illegal waste overlays.
