Marius Stankevičius

Marius Stankevičius (born 15 July 1981 in Kaunas) is a Lithuanian footballer.

Club career

Stankevičius stands since 2001 with Italian clubs under contract. In the 2010/11 season he played on loan at FC Valencia, where he was to replace the migrated Alexis and Carlos Marchena. Already in the previous season played Stankevičius in La Liga, but at FC Sevilla. In July 2011, Lazio announced the commitment of Stankevičius.

National

Stankevičius currently plays as a defender in the Lithuanian national football team, where he also is captain. He made his debut in July 2001 against Estonia. Previously Stankevičius was also player of the national U- 21 team.

2008 and 2009 Stankevičius was elected in Lithuania Footballer of the Year.
