Markttasche village is a market in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch -Bad Windsheim, Middle Franconia and a member of the administrative community Scheinfeld.

Geography

Geographical Location

Surrounded by fields and meadows, and partly by forest community is located in a hilly landscape in the southern part of the Steigerwald and is traversed by the Little Weisach. The coming from the neighboring Kornhöfstadt Steinach flows through the vilage Frankfurt, Lach Home and Upper Steinbach. The highest point in the municipality is the High pine with 434 m.

Community structure

The municipality Markttasche village has eleven officially named districts:

  • Birkach until 1 January 1972 as belonging to the disbanded community Kornhöfstadt
  • Frankfurt ( locally known as "Frankfurt behind the hedge " ) until January 1, 1972 independent municipality with the desert Klösmühle
  • Hombeer until January 1, 1972 belonging to the disbanded community Altershausen
  • Market Bag village with the village of Upper Bag village and the desert Butzenmühle
  • Obersteinbach until 1 January 1972 an independent municipality of the village of Lach home and the hamlets Lerchenhöchstadt Mountain and Wilhelmine

Prior to the 1972 local government reorganization Hombeer belonged to the former county Dietersheim, all other districts to the former county Scheinfeld.

History

From the period of 850-550 BC, there are finds from burial mounds in the area. Around the 9th century AD pocket village was founded. One According to oral tradition, a " Tassilo " has settled here. The place name, a Slavic- German mixed name is traced back to the period 850 BC. Whether the name of the Tassilo thus is related is unclear. 1285 the village was first mentioned in writing in 1500 receives pocket village market rights. Structure

The church is agriculturally oriented, with changed in the second half of the 20th century by newly built settlements of the character towards residential community. Even the medium-sized craft and tourism play a major role.
