Matthew Wilson (cyclist)

Matthew Wilson (born 1 October 1977 in Melbourne ) is an Australian former racing cyclist.

Matthew Wilson began his career in 2001 with the cycling team Mercury Viatel. After a year he moved to the French team Française des Jeux. There he took part in 2003 for the first time at the Tour de France, which he finished on one of the last places. In January 2004, then Wilson won the championship title at the Australian road championship. From 2006 to 2007 he rode for the professional continental team Unibet.com, before he transferred to the 2008 season for Team Type 1. After a further change to the Team Garmin -Transitions in 2010, he drove his last season for Orica Green Edge and finished his career after the Vattenfall cyclassics, 2012.
