Maurizio Margaglio

Maurizio Margaglio ( born November 16, 1974 in Milan ) is an Italian former figure skater, who started ice dancing.

He did not begin until the age of eleven with the figure skating. First, he ran together with Claudia Frigoli. His coach was Roberto Pelizzola.

Great success achieved Maurizio Margaglio with his second Eistanzpartnerin Barbara Fusar - Poli. In 1996, she debuted at the World Championships. In 2000, she won her first medals by being vice-champion and European vice-champion. In the 2000/2001 season Fusar - Poli and Margaglio were victorious in all competitions where they were lined up. They won all of her three Grand Prix competitions and the Grand Prix Final. 2001, they were in Bratislava European champion and world champion in Vancouver. They are the first international title holder in the ice dancing from Italy.

After the 2002 Winter Olympics, where Fusar - Poli and Margaglio won the bronze medal, she no longer took part in international competitions. At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, they returned and were as already in her first Olympic Games in 1998 Sixth.

In the second season, he was seen with Stars on Ice, which aired on ProSieben, and was able to prevail with his partner Susanne Paetzold against the competition play in the final.

2011 signed Margaglio a three-year contract with the Finnish Figure Skating Association to promote as manager of the Finnish ice dancing.

Margaglio has three sons shared with his wife.
