The Medjerda (Arabic مجردة Medscherda, DMG Maǧarda, in ancient times Bagradas ) with 450 km of Tunisia 's longest river, which leads the water all year round.

The Medjerda originates in northeastern Algeria and reached at the Algerian- Tunisian border Ghardimaou. From there it flows along a route via Jendouba, Bou Salem, south of Beja, Medjez el- Bab and Utica into the Mediterranean.

The Medjerda feeds more than half the statewide water supply of Tunisia. In addition, the agriculturally most productive area of Tunisia is located in Medjerda Valley.
