Melville Sound

Geographical location

The Melvillesund (English Melville Sound) is a strait of the Coronation Gulf in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. It separates the Kent Peninsula in the north by the North American mainland to the south. North of the Melvillesund, surrounded by the Kent Peninsula, lies the Parry Bay. To the east of Melvillesund becomes the Elu Inlet. To the west opens the strait to Bathurst Inlet, a bay of the Coronation Gulf, down.
