History

There the team, although only reached the seventh, and thus the third last place, but was so taken up due to the restructuring of the IIHF World Championship tournaments equal to the newly established, third-rate Division II, but descended from the Mexicans a year later in Bucharest again. Since then, the Mexican selection has developed into a " lift team " between the Divisions II and III. The final ascent time being dated from the year 2005; at the World Championships at home all enemies were defeated - against the entire tournament hopelessly overtaxed Armenia was even a 48:0.

2006 at the Division II tournament in New Zealand scored the first victory of Mexico in the third division by beating the hosts and thus could avoid the immediate re descent. 2007, the Mexicans were again in fifth, which meant this time, although the last place because of the withdrawal of the team of North Korea, but did not result from the same reason, in the descent. The political wrangling on the East Asian peninsula were therefore in this case Mexico's lucky, because against the stronger assessed North Koreans, it would have been another defeat that would have led to the descent. However, overall progress could be seen at the team from Mexico; Although we lost all games, but could not keep up so far that only a single defeat, a 2:12 against Australia, two digits separated. The title bouts in 2008 then even get two wins against Iceland ( 6-4 ) and New Zealand (2-0 ), and thus with fourth place in the Division II the previous best placement. In 2009, could be held with a 4-2 win against South Africa the class. 2011 could only be held the league since the choice of North Korea because of their no-show automatically in the lowest league, which was Division III classified.
