Michael Rose (singer)

Michael Rose ( also Mykal Rose and Mikal Roze, born July 11, 1957 in Kingston) is a Jamaican reggae singer. He gained as a singer of the band Black Uhuru fame.

Career

Through his brother Joseph Michael Rose learned in his youth many reggae artists know, including The Wailers, Gregory Isaacs, Big Youth, Sly & Robbie and Dennis Brown. Niney The Observer produced the first images of him. Mid-1970s, Don Carlos left the band Black Uhuru. Him replaced Michael Rose. He wrote many successful songs of the band until 1985 after the release of the album Anthem left the band. He released several solo albums since then that have had success, among other things also in Europe and Japan.

Since 2004, Michael Rose makes together with Duckie Simpson again under the name Black Uhuru music. He is still active as a solo artist.

In 2007 and 2008 he made to gain recognition through songs on current dancehall riddims and cooperation with current dancehall artists ( Busy Signal, Jah Cure, Damian Marley ). He also produced the hit song Shoot Out on the Shoot Out Riddim.
