Michel Mercier

Michel Mercier ( born March 7, 1947 in Bourg -de- Thizy (Rhone) ) is démocrate a French politician of the Mouvement.

Life

Mercier studied political science and law at the Institut d' études politiques de Lyon. After his studies, he taught as a professor at the University of Lyon II law. From 24 May 1993 until September 24, 1995, he was the successor of Alain Mayoud deputy in the National Assembly. From 2 October 1995 to July 23, 2009 Mercier was a senator in the Senate for the department of Rhône. In the Second Cabinet of François Fillon Mercier was June 23, 2009 to November 13, 2010 Minister of Rural and Regional Planning. From November 14 2009 to 15 May 2012, he was the third Cabinet of François Fillon as successor by Michèle Alliot-Marie, Minister of Justice of France.
