Mírová

Mírová until 1955 Mnichov ( German Münchhof ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located two kilometers east of Chodov and belongs to Okres Karlovy Vary.

Geography

Mírová is located in the Sokolov basin at the Bach Chodovský creek. In the south, the scale on the Kellersberg former slag heap Loket, under the sooner the village Podhoří was raised. In the west, the railway line from Chodov to Nová Role, at the Mírová has a train station runs. The railway line Chomutov - Cheb leads south past the village.

Neighboring towns are Božičany in the north, Jimlíkov in the northeast, and Pocerny Zátiší in the east, and Jenišov Pod Raw in the southeast, Hory and Loučky in the south, Nové Saddleback and Chranišov in the southwest and Chodov in the West.

History

The village was probably a fortified priory after acquiring the rule Chodov by the Klosterwald Assen at the junction of the 12th and 13th centuries. After having been a fall in the mid-14th century in economic distress, it enabled the possessions in Münchhof, Chodov, Perglas and shives consolation of Winkler, who had previously acquired the goods from the Sokolov Nothafft.

The village was first mentioned in the year 1437. 1460 are John and Nicholas Hofmann as the owner of the fortified farm detectable. After the takeover by the Communists a discussion about the place name began. The place-names Commission took the view that there were too many " Mnichov " in the country and the name was also impacted historically by the Munich Agreement. The local National Committee ( MNV ) not joined the and referred to the historical origin from the time of the monastic rule. Under pressure from the Bezirksnationalauschusses who suggested a name change to " Větrná " ( = wind) and a likelihood of confusion with Mnichov in Slavkov saw that kept its name, the MNV finally hit the new name " Mnichovanka " before. Took place on May 9, 1955, after lengthy negotiations, the renamed Mírová. Since 1961, the community is part of the Okres Karlovy Vary. From 1976 to 1990 Mírová was a district of Karlovy Vary.
