Mittlerer Erzgebirgskreis

The Middle Ore Mountains was a district in the Regierungsbezirk Chemnitz in the southwest the Free State of Saxony. Geography

History

The Middle Ore Mountains was established on 1 August 1994 mainly as a union of circles Marienberg and Zschopau. The northern part of the toy angle fell to the county Freiberg.

By revisiting administrative reform in Saxony, the districts of Annaberg, Aue- Schwarzenberg, Erzgebirge District Middle and Stollberg combined to form the new Erzgebirgskreis on 1 August 2008.
