Montanari (crater)

77.05

Montanari is an impact crater in southwestern lunar front side, to the west of the crater Tycho. The heavily eroded, hardly auszumachende crater rim touches to the north the edge of the larger crater Wilhelm and to the northwest the also heavily eroded Lagalla.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian astronomer and lens-grinder Geminianus Montanari.
