Morane-Saulnier BB

The Morane -Saulnier BB was a French two-seat reconnaissance aircraft in biplane design, which was used in the First World War.

Development and use

From 150 aircraft on order, which should be equipped with 110 -hp Le Rhône rotary engines, only 94 were delivered and fitted due to delivery problems with the weaker 80 -hp Le Rhone engine. Tentatively was constructed an airplane with water- Hispano-Suiza engine, which was named Morane -Saulnier bra.

The aircraft were used by the Squadrons 1, 3 and 60 of the Royal Flying Corps and 201, 203 and 204 of the Royal Naval Air Service. Some of the MG equipped with a Morane- Saulnier for the observer BB were also armed with an additional attached on the upper wing MG for the pilot.

Some were BB also to the Imperial Air Fleet in Russia and delivered the Spanish Air Force.
