Motyčky

Motyčky (Hungarian Martalja - Motyók to 1902 - to 1882 Moticsko ) is a small municipality in Okres Banská Bystrica within the Banskobystrický kraj in Slovakia, with about 110 inhabitants.

The municipality is located in the Starohorské Hills at the confluence of several streams and is located on the main road 59 between Banská Bystrica, 18 kilometers to the south and Donovaly, 5 km to the east. From the several small settlements Jergaly and Štubne are performed as parts of municipalities in addition Motyčky yet, but there are still several settlements such as Bukovec Dúvodno and moce.

Today's church was first mentioned only in 1743 as Motischka ( other information already speak of 1698 as Moticzko ), but the beginnings are attributed to the 16th century. In this period, several Köhlereiansiedlungen created for the production of charcoal for the smelters in the nearby towns Liptovské Revúce and Špania Dolina. 1652 Four Lumberjack and Köhlereirortschaften occupied, namely Horna Pavlová (then German " Pavlova Oberthail " ), Dolna Pavlová ( " Pavlova undterthail " ), Nad Rybníkom ( " Above the Thaich " ) and Pri Rybníku ( "On the Thaich " ), with a total of 66 residents listed. Until the beginning of the 18th century an effort was still the local documents Bukovec and Dúvodné. All these villages united in 1860 to the municipality Motyčky.

At this time most of the inhabitants were employed in forestry or in iron works in the area. Today, the majority swings downhill to Harmanec. To date, the traditional lace making has been preserved.
