Municipality of Veržej

Veržej ( German Wernsee ) is a city and a municipality located in the historical region of Lower Styria in Slovenia and is located on the right bank of the Mur.

Location and population

In the overall community consisting of the three villages Banovci Bunčani and Veržej about 1313 people live. In the capital Veržej 956 people. The municipality is located in the extreme eastern part of Slovenia, south of Murska Sobota.

Attractions

  • At the Mur many water mills were in times past in operation. One of the few surviving mills ship is at Veržej.
  • About the Regional Municipality especially for the Banovci spa is known, which also has next to 2,000 m² of water surface, about the only nude hot camping in Europe.
