Natalia Linichuk

Natalya Vladimirovna Linitschuk (Russian Наталья Владимировна Линичук; born February 6, 1956 in Moscow) is a former Russian figure skater, which was launched in ice dancing for the Soviet Union.

Career

Linitschuks Eistanzpartner was Gennadi Karponossow. They were trained by Jelena Tschaikowskaja. In the period from 1974 to 1981, she participated in all the European Championships and reached always the podium. 1979 in Zagreb, and in 1980 in Gothenburg they were European champions, 1978 Vice European Champion and 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1981, they won the bronze medal. At World Championships, she attended from 1974 to 1980. 1978 in Ottawa and in Vienna in 1979 they were world champions. In 1980 she won silver and bronze in 1974 and 1977. Linitschuk and Karponossow run two Olympic Games. In 1976 in Innsbruck, at the first Olympics Ice Dancing with the program, they finished fourth and 1980 in Lake Placid, they were Olympic champions and so took the Olympic succession of their compatriots Lyudmila and Alexander Gorshkov Pakhomova.

1981 ended Natalia and Gennadi Linitschuk Karponossow her career as an active figure skater. On 31 July 1981, they married.

The couple first lived on in Moscow. Linitschuk and Karponossow were together successful Eistanztrainer. Later they went to the U.S., only to Delaware and then to Pennsylvania. They trained, among others, Oksana Grishchuk / Yevgeny Platov, Anschelika Krylova / Oleg Ovsyannikov, Irina Lobatschewa / Ilya Awerbuch, Oksana Domnina / Maxim Shabalin (all Russia), Galit Chait / Sergei Sakhnovsky and Natalia Gudina / Alexei Belezki (all Israel), Albena Denkowa / Maxim Stawiski (Bulgaria ) and the Americans Tanith Belbin / Benjamin Agosto.
