National Anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Sorud -e Melli -e Iran (Persian سرود ملی جمهوری اسلامی ایران, soɾude melije dʒomhuɾije ʔeslɒmije ʔiɾɒn ) is the national anthem of Iran. The music was composed by Hassan Riyahi, the text was written by a team of authors. The anthem was adopted in 1990 and replaced the former national anthem Payandeh Bada Iran, which had been used since 1980.

Predecessors were Sorood -e Iran Shahanshahi ( " Imperial Hymn " ) and after the overthrow of the monarchy for a very short period of 1979-1980 de facto the folk song Ey Iran.
