The Universidad Nacional de Colombia ( German: National University of Colombia ) is the first public and State University of Colombia.
History
The university was founded on 22 September 1867, with six courses of study. Between 1903 and 1940 a further 20 courses have been added. In 1967, the first master 's degree programs were offered; 1986 awarded by the University its first doctoral degrees. Headquarters of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia is Bogota; The University also has side seats in Medellin, Palmira, Manizales, Arauca, Leticia, and San Andrés and Providencia. The campus of the University in Bogotá has been designed by German architect Leopold Rother. 11 faculties ensure the teaching of the central campus. In addition, 7 inter- optional facilities and 7 museums.
Study
The university has its head office in Bogotá and other campus in Medellín, Manizales, Leticia, Palmira, Tumaco, San Andrés and Arauca. The courses of study include business administration, anthropology, architecture, humanities, life sciences, political science, physics, industrial design, philology ( German, French, English, Spanish), accounting, statistics, mathematics, literature, science, law, graphic design, cinema, pharmacy, philosophy, psychology, history, geology, medicine, engineering ( mechatronics, electronics, chemicals ); Veterinary medicine and social work.
Book series
The University publishes Unibiblos with an important series of books with contributions from their members to cultural and academic topics. In the last 10 years 1500 title were added.
