Neugartheim-Ittlenheim

Neugartheim -Ittlenheim is a municipality in the canton of Truchtersheim in the department of Bas -Rhin in Alsace region of France. She is a member of the Communauté de communes du Kocher mountain. The merger between Neugartheim and Ittlenheim (German Ittelnheim ) came into force on 1 January 1973.

Geography

The municipality with 795 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) is situated in the Upper Rhine Valley near the secondary road D 41 about 20 km north- west of Strasbourg.

The southwestern neighboring community is Wintzenheim- Kochersberg. Is the cooker Mountain, a 301 -meter -high hill, on which stood a castle between the 12th and 16th centuries between the two places.

Attractions

  • The church of Saint - Rémi was completed in its present form by an inscription on the south portal in 1748. The deliberately simple construction entirely rebuilt in 1994 and is a listed building.
