Neulehe

Neulehe is a municipality in the Emsland district, in Lower Saxony. It belongs to the Samtgemeinde Dörpen, which has its headquarters in the town of Dörpen.

Geographical Location

The community Neulehe located in the northern part of the district between empty and Meppen on the coast channel.

Neighboring communities, the city of Papenburg, in the east the municipality Surwold in Samtgemeinde Nordhümmling, in the south the municipality Dörpen and to the west the town Lehe in the north.

History

Neulehe was founded in 1788 by the Münster Prince Bishop Maximilian Franz of Austria as peat northeast of Dörpen. She was named after the nearest existing village Lehe.

As part of the development of the settlement rechtsemsischen Moore A was founded by 11 settlers points 1936/37. This actually belonged to the municipality Surwold - Börgermoor. Neulehe in 1939 associated with the settlement of A under the new name Eggershausen.

Neulehe was up to the Lower Saxon town of reform, which came into force on 1 January 1973, a member municipality of the velvet municipality ash Village / Ems. Since the local government reform it is a member municipality of the velvet municipality Dörpen.
