Nick Kyrgios

Career
The first tournament in the professional career of Kyrgios was qualifying for the 2012 Australian Open, where he lost his Erstrundenbegegnung against Frenchman Mathieu Rodrigues in three sets. Rest of the year, he participated in various tournaments of the ITF Futures Tour part where he once reached the semi-finals and was able to gain some points for the tennis world rankings. At the end of the year he was already at position 843 of the individual rankings. The year 2013 he began again with qualifications for tournaments on the ATP World Tour, but was not yet in Brisbane at the Australian Open his opening games win in the single qualification. In doubles, he got together with Thanasi Kokkinakis a wildcard for the main draw. They lost their match against Rohan Bopanna and the pair Rajeev Ram in straight sets. Because of missed single qualification Kyrgios played with the boys tournament at the Australian Open and won the final against his doubles partner Thanasi Kokkinakis in two sets. After that, he appeared for the first time at a tournament in the ATP Challenger Tour and reached in Adelaide at first the semi-finals. Thanks to these points he advanced in the rankings further forward and made nearly 270 positions well. On his second Challenger tournament in Sydney Kyrgios reached the final and stood there his compatriot Matt Reid over, he was able to defeat in straight sets. He celebrated his first major success in his pro career.
Davis Cup
In 2013 he gave the relegation match against Poland made his debut for the Australian Davis Cup team.
