Niendorf, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Niendorf is a municipality in the western part of the North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Schönberger country located in the town of Schönberg.

Geography

The municipality lies on the River Niendorf Maurine, about 13 km south-east of Lübeck. The hilly area around the town, reached heights up to 50 m above sea level. NN.

To Niendorf include the districts Bechelsdorf, Ollndorf and Törpt.

History

For the first time the former Rundling Niendorf together with the present-day district Ollndorf 1194 was documented in Isfriedschen sharing agreement, Bechelsdorf 1257 and 1308 followed Törpt. In Bechelsdorf stood until 1960, the oldest house in the region (the Schulz house ), it was rebuilt in Schoenberg Memorial Court and is now run by the Folk Art Museum in Schoenberg. Noteworthy are some cones tombs in the area around Niendorf. In Bechelsdorf of archaeological interest Lübeck forester Carl Hermann Haug (1811-1878) excavated in 1869 from a royal grave of the Bronze Age. Transport links

The A 20 (Lübeck - Wismar ) leads immediately to the north past Niendorf, the connection points Schoenberg and Luedersdorf are each about 7 km away. The important link road from Schönberg to Lauenburgische Ratzeburg runs through Niendorf. The nearest railway station is located in the few kilometers to the north Schönberg ( railway Lübeck- bath small ).
