Nils Östensson

Nils Östensson ( born April 29, 1918 in Transtrand, Sweden, † July 24, 1949 in Risberget, Norway) was a Swedish cross-country skier and Olympic champion.

In St. Moritz, he won in 1948 at the Olympic Winter Games gold medal with the Swedish squadron ( Nils Täpp, Gunnar Eriksson and Martin Lundström ) and the silver medal over 18 kilometers. In 1941, he took also at the Nordic World Ski Championships with the Swedish relay silver medal behind the Finns.

Östensson also won the cross-country competitions over 18 km and 50 km at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1949.
