Numana

Numana is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3675 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Ancona in the Marche. The municipality is situated approximately 14.5 kilometers south-southeast of Ancona on the Adriatic coast. The southern boundary of the municipality is the Musone, the southwest of Aspio. Numana borders the province of Macerata.

History

It is probably in Numana a Doric city's founding. By the Battle of Sentinum 295 BC, the town came under the rule of Rome. In 1928 the town was Sirolo ausgemeindet.

Traffic

Through the village leads the Autostrada A14 from Bologna towards Taranto.
