Geography

History

The place was named for several centuries " Hausen under Wildenberg " or " Hausen in wild mountain". Oberhausen was the first time mentioned in 950 through the village of Berg, who was at that time in possession of the diocese of Brixen. On the so-called Schlossberg southwest of Oberhausen is the medieval castle stables Willenberg, to have expanded from Weilheim to a hilltop castle since about 1170 resident nobles.
